Dr. Asma Khan is from the multicultural city of Chicago, Illinois where she enjoyed life growing up as the middle child of three sisters. She was always interested in medicine and working with people, so when it came time to pick a career, going to podiatry school was a no-brainer.
She attended the prestigious Loyola University in Chicago, where she earned a Major in Biology and a minor in Theatre.
Dr. Khan earned her doctorate in podiatric medicine at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. She then completed a three-year residency program in Philadelphia where she served as chief resident in her final year.
After residency, she was able to further her training by completing an extra fellowship year in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery as well as minimally invasive surgery.
The most satisfying aspect of being a podiatrist is to be able to help people turn their health around, particularly for diabetics struggling to control their blood sugars and facing the consequences of poor healing. Helping patients heal longstanding wounds is probably one of the most gratifying aspects of her daily life.
Dr. Khan is focused heavily on bringing the most innovative treatment modalities to her practice to help her patients heal faster, often avoiding the need for surgical intervention altogether. These include the FDA-approved REMY laser for treating toenail fungus, musculoskeletal injuries, and even neuropathy symptoms.
She is excited to be a part of the Clearwater area and looks forward to helping you reach your goals on your foot and ankle healing journey.
